20 Years of Dirt

No, not a Nitty Gritty Dirt Band post, but I just realized it was about this time of year in 1993, when I had some summer hay hauling & bartending moneys burning holes in my pocket while returning to CMSU (UCM now)campus... A couple art buddies Doug Hurt and Matt Flint had some nice mtbs of the day that they used around town and occasional trail, and steered me into my first purchase of a 1994 Trek 930. It's been a fun ride. Today I skipped class (work) and got in 3 hours before tonight's rains. Then I gave my newly reseeded lawn it's first haircut. Life's pretty good.

Into the Night

Most of my dark rides are into the LIGHT (6am)... Another flipside ride last night was nice. Frogs singing. Territorial Horned Owl sounds. Snakes and spiders. Summer has her heels dug in. I'll drink (a summer beer) to that! Into the night or into the light, these are the best times of day to ride (yer bike!)... cheers

Gangrene with Bike Envy

I've mentioned before, I'm quite contented with the bike stable I have, and very rarely do I look at another bike with any sort of want. Likely because I have so many projects going on in my garage, I can rebuild an old bike frame each year with different parts and feel like I'm getting a new bike. But these 650Bs have me intrigued. I love my 29er SS. I love(d) my geared full suspension. I love(d) my 26" hardtail SS. Methinks I need a geared hardtail 650B now to complete the gaps currently on the pegs on the wall of the garage.

Something deep down within has been sparked and I'm going to make this month of riding both high quantity and high quality. Let us begin... 10/1
